About this range
Support the load. Allow the required movement.
Pipe supports carry the weight of pipework, contained fluid, insulation and attached equipment while controlling movement according to the stress design. JINYI’s category includes pipe shoes, clamps, saddles, riser supports, support frames, spring pipe hangers and constant spring supports. A support selected only by pipe diameter can be unsuitable for the load or operating displacement. Industrial pipe supports should be specified from the support schedule and structural interfaces, with cold and hot positions, load cases and permitted degrees of freedom recorded separately.
- Define sustained operating, empty, hydrotest and occasional load cases in N or kN. Include the contents of the pipe and the applicable insulation system.
- Provide vertical, axial and lateral travel with an explicit positive direction. Distinguish installation position, normal operating position and extreme positions.
- Variable spring hangers for thermal movement change force as the spring moves. Use the selected spring rate and travel to check load variation against the piping design criterion.
- Constant spring supports are considered where the permitted load variation is small relative to the required vertical movement. Confirm usable travel and adjustment range. Compare the horizontal constant spring hanger and compact constant spring support when checking the available mounting space.
- For insulated pipework, specify insulation thickness, support elevation, insert material and vapour-barrier continuity for cold service.
- Separate the support function from the product shape: a shoe may slide, guide or anchor depending on the complete assembly and its structural attachment.

Load paths, spring rates and interfaces
Pipe supports and hangers for process piping connect the stress model to the steelwork. The specification should identify where the load enters the clamp or shoe, how it reaches the supporting structure and which movements remain free. For a variable spring, force change is calculated from ΔF = k × Δy using consistent units. As an illustrative calculation, a 20 N/mm spring moving 25 mm changes force by 500 N; this is an example, not a JINYI product rating. The project engineer determines whether that variation is acceptable.

Four checks before specifying pipe supports
Use these checks to define the pipe supports assembly before comparing prices. Record the decision against the drawing revision and obtain confirmation of the proposed model’s limits.
- Review the support schedule Match support tag, pipe size, temperature, cold and hot loads, movement vectors and installation elevation.
- Select the support function Choose resting, sliding, guiding, anchoring, suspended or spring-supported behaviour from the approved stress design.
- Check the load path Verify clamp contact, shoe height, rod alignment, base plate, structural connection and permitted side loads.
- Record installation settings Document cold setting, travel indicator position, adjustment range and the procedure for removing transport restraints.
Dimensions and service conditions should be agreed before ordering.
Pipe supports and hangers for process piping
For pipe supports, send the tagged support schedule, pipe OD and wall, operating temperature, insulation thickness, load cases and signed movement vectors. Include available installation height, structural connection drawings, finish requirements and any spring load–travel documentation required.
- Pipe shoes and saddles Provide contact geometry, pipe wall, attachment weld requirements, shoe height and sliding-surface details.
- Suspended hangers Define rod length, thread size, structural attachment, available headroom and allowable angular displacement.
- Spring assemblies Supply cold load, hot load, vertical travel, load-variation criterion and required reserve travel.
- Frames and riser supports Provide vertical reactions, lateral actions, bolt pattern, steel grade, coating and the supporting-structure drawing.
Send drawings and the item schedule with your enquiry.
Inspection requirements for pipe supports
Support inspection should compare the assembly with its approved drawing and support schedule. For springs, request the load–travel record where specified. Dimensional inspection alone does not establish that a support provides the correct operating load or restraint.

Service and installation
Include these conditions with the pipe supports enquiry. A useful comparison checks technical compliance, inspection scope and installation requirements before comparing unit price.
Discuss your specificationSelection questions
When is a spring hanger needed?
Consider a spring hanger where vertical pipe movement must occur while a defined supporting force is maintained. The need and allowable load variation come from the piping stress analysis.
Are variable and constant springs interchangeable?
No. Variable springs change load with travel; constant assemblies are designed to keep support force approximately constant over their rated stroke. Compare the design loads, travel and permitted deviations.
Need help with a specific drawing? Include the service conditions in your enquiry.
Discuss your specificationInstallation questions
Can pipe diameter determine the support spacing?
Diameter is only one input. Pipe material, wall, contents, insulation, temperature, concentrated loads and allowable deflection also affect the spacing and reactions.
What changes for chilled-water supports?
Cold-service details should address condensation, insulation compression and the vapour barrier. Specify an appropriate load-bearing insulation insert and the required thermal separation.
